As Country Director for Ireland, I am incredibly proud to have built on the strong foundations Ground Control had across Ireland. From forging new partnerships with ESB to support the safe operation of power networks, to working closely with students at Trinity College, it's been a period of exciting growth.

The crux of this is not just growth for the sake of growth, but to grow in a way that we believe is beneficial for the Irish market and the people of Ireland. That’s why our growth is ‘Inspired by Innovation’, ‘Driven by Data’, and ‘Built on Biodiversity’

Inspired by Innovation

We’re changing how we do things. Bringing award-winning innovation into ground maintenance and across all our operations to deliver a fresh technology-driven approach to the Irish ecosystem. We’re already showcasing innovations like GC Go to our clients, and are able to demonstrate to utility and inland waterway providers, retailers, and facilities managers how we can not only support nature on their site, but use modern techniques to create a more efficient and cost-effective service.

Driven by Data

At Ground Control, we’re leading the way in the use of data. Our partnership with FOIL Limited to create our intelligent quote app has been awarded “Climate Change Initiative of the Year”, for an app that will reduce over 300,000 miles of travel and 37,000kg of CO2e emissions annually across Ground Control and will drive efficiencies in ordering and delivery for our clients.

Built on Biodiversity

Across our new website, you’ll notice ‘38 wavy lines’ on our imagery, relating to Ground Control’s commitment to becoming carbon net zero by 2038. This is just part of the story and messaging, as we want to embed the idea of creating habitats and delivering biodiversity net gain to our client across Ireland.

The future of Ground Control is exciting. Leading Ireland's charge on biodiversity, and delivering an innovative service to our clients, driven by data. I looked forward to the next 12 months and far beyond.

In a future series, Delcan O’Gorman will further explore these topics and how they are in action across Ireland.
